A Selection of My Work
I hope you will enjoy my use of color as I reinvent the many shapes and forms which I encounter in nature. I am always with my camera which provides the rich resource material that results in my art. Sometimes my work is all acrylic, used in its many iterations, at others it is mixed with various media, collage, and the detritus of my studio that finds its way on the surface. It's all part of the possibilities of artmaking. First comes the color, then comes what's possible. It's important to revel in the phases!
I grew up in a time and place where the outdoors and its “accessories” were my play props. From my earliest memories of my childhood, inventiveness and creativity were my partners. I enjoyed an incredible freedom and only limited boundaries which I call upon today when I stand in front of my easel or sit down to create a collage or an assemblage.
